A Catford pub which was the scene of a drugs raid and a French restaurant previously in hot water for allegation of amorous punters defecating in the street have both had their licences suspended.

Police raided the Catford Ram in the shopping centre on February 26, arresting four people for drugs offences and another man for handling stolen goods.

Now the boozer's licence has been temporarily suspended pending a full review.

The same fate has befallen French bistro Le Bourgeois in Brownhill Road.

That venue survived a previous licensing review back in 2013, despite complaints of people having sex in the basement, drunkenly fighting and defecating on the pavement outside.

Sergeant Matt McGrath from Lewisham police's licensing team said: "We continue to work with Lewisham Council to ensure that the licensing objectives are robustly upheld."
