A 65 year-old woman was left with a broken shoulder following an attempted robbery in Lewisham.

The victim was walking along Lewisham High Street outside Greggs on February 21 around 10:30 am when it is believed she was hit from behind by the suspect.

As she was being helped up, the suspect is said to have put his hand in her shopping trolley and made off, although no items are thought to have been stolen.

Lewisham Detective Constable Fleur Halsey, investigating the case, said: "The victim has been lefty extremely shaken up by the incident and she's sustained a serious injury to her shoulder.

"We would urge anyone who was out shopping in Lewisham town centre on Saturday and saw what happened to get in touch with us.

"If anybody has any information about the suspect involved then we want to hear from you."

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, of slim build and wearing a blue jacket.
