A masseur groped a stunned client's breasts and bottom before telling her "it's good to go deeper", a court heard today (January 13).

Mark Lancaster, 54, of Hafton Road, Catford, allegedly turned off the lights before sexually assaulting the woman during her fourth session at the Hamlets Health Club in East Dulwich.

The client "froze" when Lancaster touched her breasts, bottom and groin, the Old Bailey heard.

Lancaster then told her "it's good to go deeper" and asked her how it felt, claiming that was how massages were done in India, jurors were told.

When she recounted the incident to a friend, the woman was physically sick, the court heard.

Prosecutor Catherine Farrelly said: "The prosecution will say there was no question of consent here despite the fact she went along and consented to the defendant touching her in his capacity as a massage therapist.

"That consent didn't in any way extend to him touching intimate parts of her body, such as her breasts, bottom and vagina.

"That, this defendant being a professional massage therapist, would have been abundantly clear to him."

The alleged victim had never had a massage before and didn't know the etiquette, but stripped to her underwear before covering herself with a towel.

She felt comfortable throughout the massage, although Lancaster allegedly made reference to her underwear saying: 'None of this thong business.'

The woman booked a number of appointments and was happy with two rub-downs Lancaster gave her in June.

But Lancaster asked if she would like to try "something different" on July 1 and mentioned practicing his "long strokes".

The woman felt increasingly uncomfortable as Lancaster touched intimate areas of her body with his hands and arms, jurors heard.

Ms Farrelly said: "She was absolutely stunned at what was happening to her and terrified.

"She was naked with this defendant, a man almost twice her size.

"She was scared and didn't know how to deal with the situation she found herself in."

When the defendant left the room, the woman managed to find her clothes and get dressed using the light on her mobile phone, the court heard.

Lancaster denies sexually assaulting the woman on July 1 2013. The trial continues.
