Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery items have been stolen from a house in Blackheath.

The burglary is believed to have taken place between December 17-27 on Shooters Hill Road.

The victim reported the burglary to the police after discovering that several items had been taken from her jewellery box on December 27.

Amongst the items stolen was a distinctive white gold and diamond panther necklace, a Victorian-style pearl, diamond and emerald ring, a "Tiffany" charm bracelet with a gold box charm, cherub charm and letter "F" charm, and a "Boodles" white-gold and diamond roulette bracelet.

The total value of the items is estimated at several thousand pounds.

Detectives are releasing images showing some of the same items of jewellery in the hope that somebody may have seen or been offered them.

Detective Constable Josh Sawyer from Greenwich CID< said: "I'd urge anybody that may have seen these offered for sale recently to contact us with any information.

No other items were taken from the house and it is not known how entry was gained.

DC Sawyer added: "Unfortunately, burglars will target small expensive items like jewellery or electrical items that they can easily carry and sell on afterwards,.

"With jewellery I'd also advise people to think about investing in a safe if they have expensive jewellery at home and to also keep photos and a record of any jewellery that you won as this will help us to identify it, should it ever be stolen."

Anyone with information should call Greenwich CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
