Friends of a Sydenham radio presenter who was found stabbed to death at his mother's flat just before Christmas are raising thousands of pounds towards his funeral.

Luke Jackson, also known as MC Bluetooth, was found at the flat in Pimlico on December 19 at 6.05pm.

Police officers and London's Air Ambulance attended the incident but 33-year-old Mr Jackson, from Sydenham Hill, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dance music station Vision Radio, which broadcast shows by Mr Jackson, said in a statement: "Vision Radio UK was deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of our much loved MC Bluetooth, Luke Jackson. 

"He was a genuinely loveable person in the true sense of the word and will be sorely missed not just but us, but by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time."

Now pals of the drum and bass MC have organised an online campaign to raise £3,000 towards his funeral, with more than £1,100 raised so far.

Organiser Kerry O'Brien, who founded the London Urban Arts Academy where Mr Jackson was a star student, said: "Luke was a best friend to so many people, he was extremely talented using his music to spread positive messages and uplifting everyone that had the honour of meeting him.

"The funeral costs are very high and we want to give him the send off that he deserves and we need to raise £3,000 and allow his mother to grieve without the stresses of finance and so he shines like the star that he was for so many."

A 65-year-old woman, named locally as the victim's mother, has been arrested on suspicion of murder was bailed to a date in mid-January. 

Police also arrested an 18-year-old man at Heathrow Airport on December 21 on suspicion of murder. He has since been bailed until early February.
