Robbers who terrorised an old aged pensioner have been jailed for six years.

David Dalling, 40, of Green Street Lewisham, Victor Hanchard, 48, of Rainsborough Avenue in Deptford and Gregory Stoll, 43, of Ellerdale Street in Lewisham were all found guilty of burglary and robbery at Woolwich Crown Court on November 21.

The three men attacked the 64-year-old victim outside his home in Lucorn Close, Lee, at 1.45am after luring him outside, telling him that they were going to give him the money they owed him.

Once outside, the victim was forced into a vehicle and attacked by the three men who demanded money and broke his thumb trying to steal his ring.

Upon realising the pensioner had no money, Hanchard and Stoll entered his house and stole £240 in cash from his pension.

The victim managed to go inside his house where he was threatened with violence before the suspects made their getaway.

Detective Constable Louise Mayhook from the Serious Acquisitive Crime Unit said: "The men lured the victim out of his house believing he was going to get money that was owed to him.

"Instead they used it as an opportunity to assault him, breaking his thumb and then going inside to steal his pension. "I am happy that the judge has seen fit to hand down such lengthy custodial sentences.”

After attending hospital for his injuries, including a broken thumb, the victim contacted the police and the men were quickly traced and charged in November and December last year.

All three men were given a one year sentence for burglary and five years for robbery to run concurrently.
