Police have arrested a second man following the murder of Olamide Fasina by an armed gang in Thamesmead.
Mr Fasina, also known as Ben, was chased by a group into an alley near Wolvercote Road and stabbed in the heart on October 14 at around 2.12pm.
Despite efforts to save the 25-year-old, he died at the scene.
Yesterday (October 27), police arrested a 21-year-old man in Gillingham on suspicion of murder. He is in custody at a south London police station.
On October 17, a 22-year-old man was also arrested and bailed until later this month.
Detective Chief Inspector Russell Taylor, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen either the build-up to this incident or the aftermath following the assault.
"There would have been a significant number of people around at this time of day and I would urge anyone who can assist this investigation to contact the incident room without delay."
Officers know the victim was with a group of friends that day and are keen to speak to anyone yet to come forward.
Anyone with information should call 020 8721 4868, dial 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
