A lorry driver has been re-bailed by police following the death of a 13-year-old student in Catford.

Yun-Yi Chen, from Taiwan, was hit by the lorry near a zebra crossing in Brownhill Road on July 16 this year.

Emergency services were called to the junction with Stainton Road at around 7.35am but Sharon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teenager - also known by her English name Sharon - had only been in the UK for two weeks and was due to fly home a few days before her death.

After the accident, the 39-year-old male driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has now been re-bailed until mid-November.

A petition calling for a new zebra crossing on the road has attracted nearly 800 signatures so far.
