An elderly man was hit by a train at Woolwich Dockyard station this afternoon (October 14).
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "We were called to Woolwich Dockyard station at 12.50pm to reports of a man being struck by a train.
"Our officers are currently at the station with colleagues Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service.
"A man is being treated at the scene for his injuries. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
According to the London Ambulance Service's HART unit, which deals with accidents in dangerous locations, the man had jumped under the train.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said staff treated an elderly man for a head laceration and an ear wound. He wa taken as a priority to King's College Hospital.
Three other people were treated for shock.
The incident is causing disruption around the rail network. Train services via Woolwich Arsenal and Greenwich may be cancelled, delayed or revised at short notice.
The Docklands Light Railway and London Buses are accepting ticket holders via reasonable routes.
