Kent Police is reminding residents to double lock their doors following a spate of break-ins in Swanley.

A number of homes were targeted last week with cash, jewellery and car keys taken.

In the early hours of April 2 a Vauxhall Astra was stolen from a driveway in Moultain Hill after thieves entered a home and snatched the keys.

On the same morning, a handbag, cash, bank cards and cigarettes were stolen from another property in the same road.

Between 2am and 6am a property in Cyclamen Road was also burgled. A purse, an Ipad, a set of keys and tools were taken.

Inspector Ian Jones of the Swanley neighbourhood policing team said: “On each occasion the offenders forced a door to gain access to the property.

“Residents can always make their homes a lot safer and this includes ensuring all doors and windows are double locked properly.”

Kent Police is currently running its Stay Safe this Spring campaign.
