THE Brixton killer of Brockley engineer Denis Cowan has been jailed for a minimum of 20 years, after blasting him in the head back in 2000.

Dialo Hall, aged 33, of no fixed abode was jailed for life at the Old Bailey today (October 10) after being convicted of the Brixton murder of Mr Cowan yesterday.

Mr Cowan, a 27-year-old, drove to Coldharbour Lane on October 2 2000, where he parked next to a Ford Focus containing two men.

After Mr Cowan became embroiled in an argument with the driver, Hall, who was sitting in the passenger seat, pulled a handgun from his waistband and shot him.

As the victim lay helpless on the ground he was blasted three more times in the head.

Subsequent police investigations revealed Hall as a possible suspect and, in 2002, he was traced to a remand centre in Jamaica where he was using the name David Millan. Fingerprint records confirmed his identity and extradition proceedings began.

Having served his sentence, last year he was served with an extradition warrant and escorted to Gatwick Airport, after which he was arrested and charged.

Hall was also sentenced to 12 years for possession of a firearm with intent and possession of a firearm, to run concurrently.
