A short while later police arrested a 28-year-old man in Lloyds Way, Beckenham, on suspicion of attempted murder and GBH. He was treated for a head injury at hospital and remains in custody at a south London police station.
The parties are known to each other.
Mavis Miller, 70, retired, who lives in Ernest Grove, said: "There was a lot of noise and police sirens.
"Three or four girls came running out into the street screaming 'please help!'
"It was horrific. The screams and the noise was just awful.
"We've never had any problems (with that house), this is a sleepy little part of the world."
Inquiries continue and are led by Bromley police officers.
