A PETROL thief who targeted petrol stations across Bromley has been jailed.

Leigh Elliott, 41, of Meadow Way, New Addington, would fill up his car at a station before driving away without paying.

He committed a string of similar offences in November and early December 2012, and pled guilty to 14 counts of theft of petrol.

Mr Elliott, who was identified through CCTV images at the petrol stations, was sentenced to 308 days imprisonment at Bromley Magistrates Court on December 20 2012.

He was arrested on December 18 while driving an uninsured vehicle.
