Man admits manslaughter of Carmel Charles in Catford
A CATFORD man has today admitted the manslaughter of Carmel Charles who was found stabbed to death last year.
Police found the 20-year-old suffering from stab wounds in Ravensbourne Park, Catford, on November 19 last year.
Officers were called to reports of an assault at around 2pm and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Richard Henry, 22, of Sussex House, in Ravensbourne Park, denies murder but changed his plea to guilty of manslaughter on the day he was to face trial.
Henry, who suffers from mental health problems, will now be sentenced on January 18 at the Old Bailey.
Judge Richard Hone apologised to Ms Charles’ family for the delay in this “very difficult, sad case”.
