A SIXTH man has been charged with the murder of Thierry Christian-Gnanakumar in Lewisham.

Aathavan Rajakumar appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court yesterday (January 12) accused of murdering Mr Christian-Gnanakumar in Lewisham High Street on November 10 last year.

Mr Christian-Gnanakumar, 22, from Catford, was found in the street by emergency services at about 9.20pm that night and was taken to hospital suffering from serious injuries.

He died in the early hours of November 11. Twenty-four-year-old Rajakumar, of no fixed abode, has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday (January 15).

Five men have previously been charged with the murder.

They are Kaviloan Venayakamoorthy, aged 23, of Eastdown Park, Lewisham, Jius James Vijashinghe, aged 27, of Baizdon Road, Blackheath, Kohulan Podiappuhamey, aged 24, of Woodyates Road, Lee, Jayruban Vivekananthan, aged 26, of Nightingale Heights, Woolwich, and 23-year-old Pirunthan Kunaratatnam.

The five have all been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey at a later date.

Three other men, aged 20, 24 and 26, have been bailed to dates later this month.
