My heart aches for the family of this young man. As a Mum of 18 year old twin boys I can't begin to imagine what they are going through. This is every Mum's worse nightmare. When will this end? And where are the Mum's of these cowards that hide behind weapons? They must know what their children are doing, if they feel unable to confront them, then report them annonymously. How many more of our children must die before something is done. God bless this poor family who's only concellation is they raised a fine man and his memory will live on.

when this goes to trial I wont be surprised to hear that poor Karl had no father figure etc, bought up by a single mum etc, was known to the police etc. SO WHAT HE HAS MURDERED AN YOUNG MAN TAKEN AWAY HIS LIFE AND HURT 5 OTHER PEOPLE - Put him away for a very very long time

and yes lets all march to show this poxy government that we want money spent on prisons not on the olympics !!!

Dear Sally, Colin & Jamie, Our thoughts have been with you constantly since Saturday. It's simply unthinkable what you are going through. Robert and Jamie were gorgeous boys when they were small - I can still picture them over the garden fence messing around in the garden! Jamie - keep strong and continue as you are. Robert will always be right behind you. Your Mum and Dad couldn't be any prouder I'm sure. Lots of Love xxx

I knew Rob and also Karl I think what this world today is disgusting but this young man who has been arrested and charged is not the only person in this world to carry a knife on him...The problem with this is too many young men watch the krays ect and think there top gangsta's andd its all to do with young boys taking drugs... I DO not agree with killings and not hanging him because what he has done BECAUSE yes they have lost a son but so as the killers mum prison is good enough he will learn!

No-one can justify killing someone. No-one can ever say that Rob got what he deserved because no1 deserves to die in such a way. I would never wish death upon anyone but I certainly hope that Karl rots forever. Even the life sentance is not enough; if he's a good boy he will be let out half way through and that is rediculous. Every1s life is in danger with these sick, twisted a*holes around. no-one will want 2 bring up kids in this country, i no i don't! i'm scared for myself let alone my friends and family. R.I.P. Rob, you are greatly loved by everyone x x

I used to work with Colin, I know that he loved his family very much. I met Rob a couple of times through my younger cousin, you was a happy fun man! So tragic to have your life taken away so young.
They should throw away the key for that horrible person. My partner knows him and said this is not the first time, he has recently come out of jail for stabbing someone else. Why let him out in the first place?!?!?
Kids today are taking over, where is the fear? Parents need to be getting back in control of their wild children before anymore innocent young lives are taken.

This is such a sad world. Karl Bishop took someones life away, and what does he get for that?! 3 meals a day, telly, free time, sports...its disgusting. He shouldnt be able to get any of that. Yes, I agree Sarah, Karl's mum has also lost a son, but what the hell was she doing when she was bringing him up?! My mum, my friends mums, they have all taught us to respect others, not to fight, but to talk and that is what we all do, we don't pull out a knife because we don't know how to speak to a person. Karl was clearly not taught how to respect others. An 18 year old boys life has been taken because of his actions...

Rob, your future was looking good, and that has so cruely been stopped in its tracks, such a pity we are left with the dregs of the universe that will spend a short term in prison for their crimes,to be let loose on society again only to sponge of the state. I worry so much what the future will bring for my young children and hope that the government will start to sit up and take notice that something should be done not tomorrow but today so that something as tragic as this will NEVER happen again. My most sincere condolences to the Knox Family and all Rob's Friends who I see are heartbroken. May your beautiful Son RIP. I too have 2 Son's. The thought of losing a child in such a senseless way doesn't even bare thinking about. Lets get all these THUGS and DRUGGED UP Kids off the streets and out of the bars/pubs BEFORE they kill innocent victims (NOT AFTER). When Karl started trouble in The Metro Bar a couple of nights before killing Rob, WHY wasn't he reported and arrested that night? Lets tell all of our children that it's OK to call the police and report such people and incidents - and make sure that the Police WILL do something about it. There's always been this stigma attached to "calling the Old Bill" (so to speak).

Rob didn't desrve to die, he was just a normal teenager out for the night and Karl deserves to be punished and hopefully given some treatment and support that he obviously needed when he was a child and didn't get. It probably added to his anger and contributed to his disgusting behaviour on the fateful night that people like you called him a 'nutter' and ridiculed him for being in a special unit and called him a scumbag! - no-one is born bad and not everyone has the perfect family life that helps children grow into good decent adults.
Hopefully a long stretch in prison with help will rehabilitate this boy.Revenge never made anybody feel better.

Thoughts and prayers to the Knox family for their terrible loss.

Mum of Bexley. You're right not everybody has a happy family life or loving parents, or even the area they come from. BUT not everybody goes out with two knives and stabs a young boy to death and slashes another four. There are a lot of young people out there that were brought up in poverty or mistreated but wouldn't dream of doing something as sick as that. He deserves life in prison for what he did with NO early parole. Killing someone is just wrong and he knew what he was doing when he took them two knives out, he is just pure evil.

There are some argumentative comments left on some of these pages.
I passed somerfield today and saw Sally and Colin Knox with obvious support from some friends doing what no parents should ever have to endure.. clearing away flowers and collecting tributes to their son, who was murdered in a town where they and the rest of us parents thought that we were relatively lucky to be hard working ordinary family's bringing our kids up in a nice place. I cried just watching them. WHAT HAPPENED ITS NOT FAIR

WHAT HAPPENED ITS NOT FAIR our thoughts are with all of the Knox family. love from mum of a 20yr old son
It is a shame there seems to have been arguements but lets remember what ever happened and the final outcome does not change the fact a fine young man full of life and talent has lost his life.

His family will be heartbroken for life and Rob's friends will never forget him.

R.I.P

Nice touch by the Harry Potter stars to say they will go to Rob's funeral.
