TRIBUTES are being left at the scene where a 17-year-old student was electrocuted as she crossed a railway track at Gravesend station.
Charlotte Sykes was killed as she tried to cross the track last Friday (November 9) at around 11.20pm.
The Bexley College student was with two friends when she either tripped over or stood on the 750 volt live rail.
Fire, police and ambulance crews attended the scene but Charlotte, a former pupil at Blackfen School for Girls, could not be saved.
Many tributes to Charlotte have been left at the scene, including: "To our special daughter Charlotte, always in our hearts and thoughts, my princess. Love Mum, Forever sweet dreams."
And: "You'll always be in our hearts forever and will be missed."
Mary Gough, who taught Charlotte at Blackfen School, said: "I was very lucky to have the privilege of being Charlotte's head of year for three years.
"Charlotte was a popular, happy and well liked pupil who gained eight well deserved GCSEs at the end of Year 11 and stayed on at Blackfen in Year 12 until February 2007.
"Charlotte will be greatly missed by the staff at Blackfen and by her many friends still at the school."
