Lewisham College hospitality students have been celebrating British Food Fortnight this term with visits from two high profile guest chefs.
British Food Fortnight, which runs between 19 September and 4 October has this year been focusing on enjoying British food in a recession.
Guest Chefs Gerard O'Sullivan, National Development Chef at Aramak and Gary Foakes, Head Chef at JP Morgan Dining Services visited the College to give professional demonstrations using British produce.
The two chefs then judged a mini Ready Steady Cook, where students were divided into six teams and challenged to produce two dishes in an hour.
Chef O'Sullivan was impressed by the standard of cooking talent. He said: "The hardest part of the job is finding good staff. There are a lot of people being churned out into the industry, but finding the right attitude is difficult. The Lewisham College students showed a lot of enthusiasm."
