Greenwich-based humanitarian charity Action Against Hunger is calling on local chefs and restaurateurs to unite in the fight against hunger.
Hundreds of restaurants all over the UK have already signed up to support 'Fight hunger. Eat out' - an international campaign that raises vital funds to help families around the world in their daily struggle to feed themselves.
Fight hunger. Eat out' month coincides with World Food Day on October 16. Last year's campaign saw the restaurant industry raise more than £140,000 with all funds going directly to Action Against Hunger.
This year hundreds of restaurants will be helping the charity to reach their target of £250,000 and make Fight hunger. Eat out' month the biggest ever.
It's simple and free for restaurants, cafés and pubs to join and the emphasis is on enjoyment, not guilt - diners are encouraged to treat themselves to a restaurant meal and in doing so help families in some of the world's poorest countries.
Each restaurant participates based on the demands of their business. Activities could include adding an optional donation to bills, giving a percentage of the sale from a specific dish or hosting special events.
With the current crises in Sudan, Chad and Somalia, Action Against Hunger needs your support more than ever.
