Free training courses for Thamesmead residents

Trust Thamesmead is working in partnership with Adult Education Bexley and Greenwich Community College to offer Thamesmead residents the following training courses:
Information Computer Technology (ICT) 18 September (assessment date)
This is a taster course in ICT for beginners. Those who pass will be awarded a Level 1 ITQ qualification
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) 19 September
10 week course Successful candidates will receive an Entry Level One certificate in ESOL, with the possibility of going on to an accredited course in 2013
Introduction to Childcare, 19 September
A 6 week course Everyone who passes this course will gain three credits towards an NVQ2 in Childcare. Interested parties may be funded for the NVQ2
First Aid 24 September
A one day course. Those who pass will receive a certificate in Level 2 in First Aid
Food Safety 4 October
This is a one day course. Those who pass will receive a certificate Level 2 in Food Safety from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
Places are based on a first come, first served basis and are open to residents of Thamesmead who are aged 16+ and work 8-hours-or-less per week.
