Comedienne, Jo Brand will be joining nurses and fundraisers this month as they light the streets of Bexley with the flash of bunny ears at the third annual Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice Moonlit Walk.

A 40-strong team of Hospice nurses and staff are calling all local ladies to join them and walk 10km in their pyjamas to support the Abbey Wood-based Hospice.

The night-time ‘women-only’ walk on Saturday, 13th September will start and finish in the Broadway Shopping Centre, Bexleyheath. Walkers will set off at 10pm after live music from the Rock Choir, a dance warm up from the Jazzercise team and jokes from special guest, Jo Brand.

Community Fundraiser, Megan Boyle, said: “We are so excited! Our Moonlit Walk has a fantastic atmosphere and it is a really enjoyable event, so dig out your favourite pyjamas, nightie or onesie and walk with our nurses as we party in our PJs! It promises to be a great night and we hope you’ll join us.”

Hundreds of local ladies have already registered, many walking as part of a team.

All participants will receive a Moonlit Walk branded sash, medal and a well-deserved treat at the end. There are also refreshments en route, including special Moonlit cupcakes from Bakers of Bexley.

Local fire fighters will marshal and present the medals at the finish.

Registration costs £15 per person in advance or £25 on the night. To sign up for the walk, or to get more information about it, go to www.communityhospice.org.uk or call 020 8319 9230.
