A pole dancing group took part in an international Guinness world record attempt at the weekend to raise funds for Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

Dancers from Hayley’s Pole Studio in Orpington joined a challenge to beat the record for the largest number of people pole dancing simultaneously in different locations.

The current record was set in 2006 when 206 people danced at 26 locations.

Saturday’s event was even bigger, with over 100 pole dancing studios taking part but it is expected to take a while before any official announcement is made.

However, Hayley Wakeman and her team of six pole dancers from Hayley’s Pole Studio are confident they have done their bit for the Pole 4 Life World Record Attempt.

For six minutes, the group performed the routine, which had been planned for four weeks.

The event raised money for cancer related charities around the world with each studio choosing a specific charity to donate their sponsorship money to.

Dancers from Hayley’s Pole Studio hope to raise £1000 for the Abbey Wood-based Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.
