THE 16th Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice shop opened its doors to the public on 28 October.
The shop was officially opened by 75-year-old Greenwich model Bridget Sojourner, star of the recent Channel 4 documentary Fabulous Fashionistas which showed getting older can be fun and fabulous.
Bridget developed a modelling career in later life and today bargain hunts in the Hospice shops on a regular basis to look a million dollars.
The new shop on 20-22 Station Road, Belvedere will sell a range of traditional charity shop items, along with furniture, electrical items and housewares.
Mandy Brinkhurst, Deputy Retail Manager at Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, said: “It was a great opening, despite the stormy weather! Bridget was a real trouper and travelled in by bus as a lot of the trains were out of action.”
Despite the bad weather, nearly 300 customers and volunteers attended the opening including the charity’s chief executive, Kate Heaps.
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice now has a total of 16 shops which play a vital role in raising the necessary funds for the charity.
The Belvedere shop is located at 20-22 Station Road, Belvedere DA17 6JJ.
Open Monday – Saturday 9.30am – 5pm.
