Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice in Abbey Wood, south-east London has today announced all kinds of volunteer opportunities for local people to give just a few hours of their time at home, at the Hospice and out in the community.

Opportunities include helping out in the Hospice gardens, shop work, driving, eBay sales and events as well as providing direct support for patients including befriending, complementary therapies and help with advance care planning.

Most volunteer roles are flexible to fit around busy lives and childcare commitments, and range from as little as a few hours fortnightly or monthly to a few days a week.

Volunteers are kept informed via a quarterly Volunteers' Bulletin called ‘The Hospice Hailer’ and long service badges are awarded at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of voluntary service.

Full training and induction is provided.
