GRAVESHAM ARTS COUNCIL (in partnership with Gravesham Borough Council) is pleased to announce that their Second Arts Festival will begin on Saturday 23rd October and continue for a month.
Following last year’s success of “The Sixth Wife”, a play written and performed by Alison Neil, she has been engaged to open the Second Arts Festival with another of her own plays “Truly Yours, C.B.”, C.B. being Charlotte Bronte. Knowing how meticulously Alison researches all her plays, she will have unearthed many little-known facts about the life and times of Charlotte Bronte for our enjoyment. The play will take place in St George’s Church, Gravesend on Saturday 23rd October at 7.30 pm. Tickets are £12.00 and available on 01474-363778.
Gravesham Arts Council promotes the Arts Festival to highlight the many Arts events that take place in the Borough, not just this month but throughout the year. Groups involved are artists, actors, dancers, singers, bandsmen, embroiderers, musicians and many more. Many of these groups have junior sections. They would also welcome new adult members. A Festival brochure will be available soon from Gravesend Library and Towncentric advertising all the events with dates and contact details. Please try to support these events – many of which are free! Maybe you will find a new hobby.
