The club held a Networking Day in November to highlight its voluntary work and projects locally, nationally and internationally, and give guests an opportunity to exchange ideas, get involved and make new friends.
The December Social meeting evoked the spirit of Christmas with festive food, two readings by drama teacher Dorothy Oliver and a fun Christmas cracker jokes quiz.
A Club Dinner at Mid Kent Golf Club was well attended, with members donating £149 towards the Soroptimist International President’s Appeal.
Members have collected more than 300 books which have been packed and shipped to Sierra Leone where they will be used to create school libraries as part of a drive to develop literacy in the country. Regrettably, the year ended on a sad note with news of the death of Ray Collins, who was a member for two years, giving her time and energy to club work despite health problems.
