A BUDDING Bexleyheath musical duo known as Lost My Donkey are hoping to storm the charts this week to raise money for a cancer charity.
Duncan Newton, 44, of Princes Street, and Dave Beecham, 39, of Mason Close, have recorded their rendition of the Chas and Dave classic ‘The Diddlum Song.’
With the track listed on iTunes and Amazon already, the pair hopes to sell as many copies as possible to raise money for a cause close to Duncan’s heart.
Duncan, an auctioneer, said: “Both my parents have volunteered at Macmillan for 10 years.
“When my mum contracted cancer last year she was helped a great deal by their staff before she passed away.
“The more we can sell the more we can give back to them for the care they gave mum.”
The pair, who named themselves after a Twitter hashtag, will not find out how many people download the track until next month but 5,000 downloads would land them in the top 40.
