STAFF at a Dartford supermarket have raised more than £2,000 for a disabled charity.

The Sainsbury’s supermarket, in the Priory Shopping Centre, selected Kent-based charity DGSM-Your Choice as their charity of the year and employees have been working hard since May last year to raise funds for them.

Disney fun-days, Christmas raffles and Halloween antics have been among events held by staff to collect money in store.

On other occasions, Sainsbury’s employees have spent time in the community with the people supported by the charity, participating in tea parties and cake decorating events.

Store manager Mark Maidment said: “From volunteering, to the many fundraising activities we’ve held, our customers have been the driving force in our fundraising efforts.

“The money we’ve raised is really going to help a local charity that’s close to many people’s hearts in Dartford.”

DGSM-Your Choice supports people with learning disabilities as well as their carers and family’s.
