RUSSELL Brand is the latest big-name publically supporting a father and son rap duo from Dartford.

He has tweeted his support for Tony and Charlie Saunders, aged 44 and six, who are a week away from winning £10,000 for Northfleet children’s charity chYps.

Taking on the social-networking site, the comedian wrote: “Little boy raps to win money for hospice that care for the baby brother he lost – vote for him here.”

The rapping pair recorded the video under stage name ‘Divvy Dad and Charlie chYps’ to compete for the money in memory of their brother and son Oscar, who lost an 18-month battle with cancer last year.

Children’s charity chYps cared for Oscar in the months before he died.

With one week until the deadline (May 31), the pair are top of the leader board but still need as many votes as possible.

Tony Saunders, of Fleet Avenue, said: “We’ve been through so much as a family through Oscar's illness and since he died.

“Having the support of everyone who has voted for and shared the rap means so much to us.

“There's not long to go - please can everyone keep voting and help us to win this £10,000 for chYps.”

Support has also been received on Twitter from Eastenders star Cheryl Fergison and Dartford-based strongman Terry Hollands.

Communications officer at the charity Tessa Youens added: “The response we've had from our supporters is overwhelming and everyone at the charity was so excited to receive a message of support from comedian Russell Brand.

“The £10,000 will make an enormous difference to the seriously ill children and families we support - we have to win!”
