GARDENERS can buy plants for their gardens before seeing some of the borough’s best when a festival kicks off next weekend.

The Harris HospisCare annual plant sale will take place on Saturday (May 12) at Caritas House, Tregony Road, Orpington, from 10am to 1pm.

On Sunday (May 13) the hospice’s open gardens festival starts with Randles, Rushmore Hill, Knockholt, open to the public.

This well established garden has been planted over the last 12 years by the owners and is laid out over an acre with a pond, various plants and a woodland backdrop.

Relationship fundraiser Sandra Rumbold said: “The Plant Sale is a wonderful event which brings together the local community.

“It spearheads the Open Garden Festival which showcases a huge variety of gardens displaying their owner’s expertise and there are always some fantastic home baked goods to sample.”
