On the 18th April Bromley Red Watch, along with firefighters from other surrounding stations, took part in a charity rowing event.
The fundraising idea was inspired by the story of Ruby Young, a 2 year old girl from Rainham Kent suffering with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
The firefighters rowed the equivalent of the River Thames on rowing machines at intu shopping centre, Bromley.
Just short of £3,000 was raised and Bromley Red Watch would like to thank Nat West & Barclays banks, intu, Marks & Spencers, Specsavers, Flint Insurance and, of course, all the generous people shopping in Bromley on the day for their support with the event.
There were also generous contributions from local businesses such as Bar du Vin, Carluccio's and so many more. Since the event Ruby has been making good progress but there is still a long journey ahead.
