ORPINGTON eyecare specialists broke the £400 fundraising mark for this year’s Red Nose Day appeal.

The team from Specsavers in Orpington raised £401 for this year’s appeal through the sale of their Red Nose Day novelty specs and donations at an in-store superhero party.

Wai Leung, store director at Specsavers in Orpington, says: ‘Thanks to the support of Orpington residents, we’ve been able raise this vital cash in support of Red Nose Day. We’re grateful to everyone involved, whether you made your face funny for money with our Red Nose Day specs or took part our superhero party in store.’ The public were encouraged to make their faces funny for money for Red Nose Day, which took place on Friday 13 March.

Visitors to Specsavers in Orpington got into the spirit of Red Nose Day by making their faces funny for money with Specsavers’ Red Nose Day glasses, in sizes large and small, for just £3, with £1 donated to Comic Relief.

Specsavers in Orpington joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa. Together, stores across the country raised £351,123 for Red Nose Day.
