Children in Coney Hall have been raising awareness about the killer disease Tuberculosis (TB) ahead of World TB Day on 24th March. Local Rainbows and Brownies have been creating beautiful artwork to spread the word that TB is not as a disease of the past; it will kill nearly 1.5 million people this year – more than malaria.

Around 300,000 of those deaths will be in India alone. In Coney Hall an appeal is running for the UK charity Target TB to buy a motorbike to help TB health workers in India save more lives. Each motorbike costs £710 including insurance, fuel and repair and all associated running costs for one year. Overall, they’ll help reach nearly 50,000 people with TB diagnosis, treatment and education in Tamil Nadu, India.

Sarah Morgan, Chair of Target TB is running the colouring competition in the run up to World TB day on 24th March and it is open to all children in the UK aged 0 - 18 until 22nd March. Winners of the best entries get an Easter Egg.
