Four Year 11 schoolgirls from Langley Park School for Girls in Beckenham have between them raised over £10,000 to fund a four week school expedition to Ecuador this summer with Camps International to do volunteer work to raise living and educational standards in rural areas.

The girls, Lily Davies, Grace Galley, Isobel Weaks and Honor Mort have run three jumble sales, run cake sales, coffee mornings, ice cream sales, Christmas market stalls, done babysitting, cleaned windows, cleaned cars, packed bags in the supermarket, sung carols amongst many other activities to fundraise for the trip. The volunteer work they will be doing includes wildlife preservation and helping in local schools in rural Ecuador.

They have one last jumble sale to run which takes place on Saturday April 26th at St. George's Hall, 7 Albemarle Road, Beckenham at 3.30pm before they head off to Ecuador in July.

The girls would like to thank their family, friends and the local community for all their support.

Their very final fundraiser, organised with other Year 11 girls, is a Boot Fair at Langley Park School for Girls on June 22nd. This is the first Boot Fair for the school and could be the start of a regular event .
