I work at Marjorie McClure Specialist School in Chislehurst and my husband is a member of Bromley Rugby Club.

Each year they do a sponsored bike ride and this year they chose Marjorie McClure as their chosen charity.

A group of rugby players cycled between the three cathedral cities of York-Lincoln-Ely (some 180 miles) over the early May Bank holiday weekend.

At this year's President's Lunch on October 5, they presented a cheque for £7.038.85 to our headteacher Denise James-Mason, our ICT Co-ordinator Laura Armitage and myself.

The cheque was designed and made by some of our pupils.

This amazing amount has gone towards a special Eye Gaze computer. This is a very specialised piece of equipment that allows our most complex and disabled pupils to control the computer using only their eye movements.

These pupils would not be able to use the computer through any other means and we are extremely grateful for the efforts of the rugby club in helping us to acquire this expensive equipment which we could otherwise not have afforded.
