MEMBERS and staff at LA Fitness – including the new branch at Orpington – raised more than £20,000 in a 16 day charity challenge to help people wounded in the military.
The challenge simulated Prince Harry and The Walking Wounded Team’s South Pole Challenge by trekking 335km by spinning, running, swimming and in fitness classes.
In the south east, clubs raised £4,311.45 for the Walking with the Wounded charity.
LA Fitness managing director Tony Orme said: “Walking With The Wounded’ is a fantastic charity and we have been immensely proud of the commitment and enthusiasm our club members, teams and the public have given to this amazing cause.”
