Special Award for Speedgate Ride for Life by Cancer Research UK

At their recent Annual Dinner, the Dartford Local Committee of Cancer Research UK presented a Special Award to Nicola Barnes, Events Manager of Speedgate Equestrian Centre, Fawkham for raising the magnificent sum of £22,438.88 last year at their Ride for Life event, and a total of £56,651.44 since May 2007 for the charity.
Other major Awards went to Brewers Arms PH, Erith (Gold), The Lads of the Village PH, Stone (Silver), The Rose PH, Bexleyheath (Bronze) and The Foresters PH, Dartford (Bronze) in recognition of their exceptional contributions last year.
A cheque for £100,000 was handed over to Cancer Research UK Head Office Representative,Simon O'Leary by Dartford Committee Chairman Lou Cruickshank which brings the total raised by Dartford Committee over the past 51 years to £2,576,649.69 up to end of October, 2009
