For Fairfield (Dartford) Women’s Institute, the month of October has meant the Annual Meeting, when the new President and Committee were chosen for the following year.
However this year will be the last time that it happens in October as our Federation has decided to hold both the Annual Meeting and the Resolution Meeting in the month of May.
Our members had to vote that they accepted this change of programme, which they did.
The accounts were then produced by the Treasurer and after discussion were accepted by the members, the Secretary read out her yearly report and the President gave her report.
Any members wishing to go in for the draw for the Bursary to Denman College had to give their names this month.
The new Committee were then voted in. Jean Dyke was re-elected as President, Jean Homer is our Secretary and Caroline Limb is our new Treasurer.
The other members of the Committee are, Ann Mansfield, Sue Metcalf, Maureen Williams, Gillian Seager, Pam Smith has taken over from Edna Jones.
We then heard about the visit to the Lakeland Store at Bluewater that Jean Dyke has arranged for the District in November where the staff will show members new stock items ready for Christmas.
Fairfield (Dartford) WI meet on the second Tuesday of the month, at Dartford Grammar School for Girls, Shepherds Lane at 7.30pm.
