The recent road works taking place throughout Dartford has made it almost impossible for traffic to flow with ease.

The one way system through the town centre often suffers problems with traffic and the current road works are simply just adding to the traffic build up. The road works stretch from outside North West Kent College, all the way into the town centre. Although it is helping to improve the roads, completing the work is a lengthy process and so locals can expect more traffic problems.

Some locals are complaining at the noise pollution that the road works are causing and the unsightly views of machinery and barriers. Although many appreciate the council’s efforts to improve the roads, some do not appreciate the time it is taking for it to be completed.

The road works taking place are at several different locations throughout the town, making it impossible to drive through Dartford without being effected at some point. The road works outside North West Kent College have been taking place for several months now and so single file traffic can add significant time to a journey.

We can only hope that our roads will be construction free soon so that traffic will be less of a problem when driving through the centre of town.
