The first festival in the Darent Valley to showcase small businesses run by mums in the area is to take place in Eynsford on June 29.

The Darent Valley Mums Mean Business Festival will host 20 local businesses ranging from beauty and baby ballet to flavoured vodka and yoga.

There’ll be a chance to taste and buy locally made products and watch and take part in demonstrations of exercise and music classes.

Festival coordinator Kate Wright, who runs her own HR consultancy in Eynsford, said: "We want to celebrate and promote the amazing businesses run by women who are juggling bringing up a family at the same time.”

Some of the businesses at the festival include Monkey Music Dartford and Bexleyheath, Hidden Beauty, Howards of Kent, Holly Ivaldi Handmade Gifts, Doodlebugs Pottery, Bed and Biscuits Bakery, Stuffed and Spoilt and Let Them Eat Cakes.

The event in Eynsford Village Hall will take place from 2-5pm and entry is free.

There’ll be free art and craft activities for children.

The festival organisers hope to set up a networking group for Darent Valley 'Mumpreneurs' after the event.
