Orpington Photographic Society had their 2011 Spring Exhibition Monochrome Prints and Slides judged and awarded by Keith Evans at their weekly - penultimate - Tuesday meeting of the season held at 7.30pm at The Small Hall, Christ Church, Orpington.

In the Monochrome section: Commended was awarded to: "Berries" by Avril Blamey; "Couttes Building, London" by Tracey Elvidge; "Misty Morning near Horley" by Jan Gilkes; "Pin Hole St Paul's" by Tracey Elvidge; and "Street Performer" by John Thorley; Highly Commended was awarded to: "After the Rain" by Tracey Elvidge; "Almost There" by George Forster; "Chapel Altar - Dover Castle Keep" by Ron Stubbings; "Loan Tree Ribblesdale, April 2009" by David Barnes and "Mist in Andrews Wood" by Tony Gilkes.

The overall winner of the Exhibition in the Monochrome section was "Singh" by Tony Seppings.

In the Slide section: Commended was awarded to: "What's the flipping hold-up now?" by Rob Miles; "Snow Cliff Textures" by Mary Moore; "The Round-up" by Joyce Alsop; "Frosted Grass" by John Abrook; "Quoich Loch" by Barbara Pettigrew; High Commended was awarded to: "Looking Out" by John Abrook; "Firework Cacophony" by Rob Miles; "Alison Lapper in the Fountains Glow" by Rob Miles; "Nesting by Joyce Alsop; and "Old Bill Driver - Bluebell Line" by Rob Miles.

The overall winner of the Slide section was "Sundeck" by Paul Griffiths LRPS.

The last meeting of the Society for the 2011 season will be on Tuesday April 26th when they hold their Annual General Meeting.

The OPS meet regularly at 7.30pm every Tuesday at The Small Hall, Christ Church, Orpington, BR6 7EP and welcome newcomers.

The Society's Summer Exhibition is to be held at Coolings Nursery and Garden Centre, Knockholt, on the weekend of August 13th and 14th, 2011. Please come along and view the work of the Society's members.
