On November 2, the Orpington & District Caledonian Society celebrated the 23rd Birthday of the Monday Beginners' Class.

The dance, which was very well attended, was held at St Pauls's Church Hall, Crofton Road, Orpington, with music provided by Robin Ellis and his Band. Much fun was had by all, with a varied programme of Reels, Jigs and Strathspeys.

The President, Elisabeth Leishman, brought the evening to a close by thanking all those who had contributed to the evening's success, especially Angela Campbell and Julie Chant.

If you would like to come along and try Scottish Country Dancing, classes are held on a Monday evening from 8pm to 10pm at St Paul's Church Hall, Crofton Road, Orpington.

You don't have to be Scottish and it's a great way to keep fit, have fun and make new friends.

Complete beginners or those with some knowledge of country dancing are all welcome.

Tea and biscuits are included in the entrance fee of £2.50, but the first class is free.

There is an annual membership fee of £3 payable after you have tried the dancing and decided to carry on.
