JOHN Horam, Member of Parliament for Orpington, was invited as a guest to the partners evening held at the Chelsfield Lakes Golf Club.
The members listened to a fascinating talk about his life in politics and his early days as an MP, representing Orpington for the last seventeen years, during which time he has seen numerous changes, in the area and in politics.
He gave an entertaining and very clear account of his personal thoughts and views on home and world events. Mr Horam plans to retire when the next parliamentary election is called during 2010, and hopes to spend some of his spare time painting and cooking.
Members were very grateful that he took the time, in a very busy schedule, to speak to them and wished him well for his future retirement.
