5:04pm Wednesday 3rd June 2009 in Chislehurst
AT OUR last meeting, Chislehurst WI members had a lively discussion about honey bees.
The statement from the British Beekeepers' Association pointed out the main problems and interesting facts regarding Colony Collapse.
Bees as pollinators are vital to the economy and to the environment.
The resolution was passed unanimously.
Recently we have also had an entertaining talk from Chris McCooey on Wacky, Weird and Wonderful Kent characters.
In addition we have had several other activities including a walk and pub lunch, a coffee morning at Keston WI, a quiz evening and a walk in Darwin’s footsteps combined with a visit to Down House.
Visitors are always welcome at St Patrick’s Hall, Albany Road, at 7.30pm on the third Monday of every month.
In June we have a musical quiz by Mr R Spiller.
