BECKENHAM W.I celebrated its 26th birthday with guests from other W.I's in the district. Our speaker for the evening was SARAH THOMAS an actress who enchanted us with stories of her time as Glenda in LAST of the summer wine, we were enthralled by her encounters with the wonderful actress THORA HIRD who played her mother. A beautiful cake made by BARBARA CROFT was enjoyed at the tea break, and we were entertained by VERONICA STANLEY ,RITA EVANS and BARBARA CROFT with individual acts of humour .
