Market stall pitch will help raise awareness for Bromley charity
1:51pm Monday 12th September 2011 in Bromley
CarePlus
Bromley older people’s charity CarePlus will have a stall at Bromley Market on Friday 23 September on Bromley High Street between 10 am and 4 pm.
Along with promoting the charity’s work in the community the stall will sign up new volunteers to the service and CarePlus volunteers will show older people in need of support how to register their details to get some help.
There will also be fun balloon giveaways for younger members of the public to take away, information and a signposting service.
CarePlus Volunteer Coordinator, Jayne Gorey, said: “This is a great opportunity for us, to give local people the opportunity to find out more about the great work we do, helping older people in the London Borough of Bromley. I am delighted that we have secured a stall at Bromley Market to raise awareness in our borough about the services we offer, and hopefully find more volunteers and people who need help to stay in their own homes.”
The charity provides a free helping hand to older people (65+) in the London Borough of Bromley who value their independence but need a little help with everyday tasks, like shopping, changing a light bulb, or tidying their garden.
