On June 1 two sisters hosted a musical event in aid of the charity Water Aid.

Florence Piper (age 11) and Sienna Piper (age 8) held a music recital and handmade card sale, raising £350 from donations, card sales and entrance fees.

The event was the desire of Florence who was inspired by charity card sale events at her school (Farringtons in Chislehurst) and from the BBC Crawley feature of an 11-year-old boy raising money for children in Africa.

Florence made 30 handmade cards and was joined by her sister Sienna when she decided to do a music recital as well.

Both girls have keen interests in music with Florence currently studying for grade 6 clarinet and grade 3 piano, and Sienna preparing for grade 3 flute exam in July.

The event was held in the Link at the newly refurbished Christ Church Chislehurst.

The church opened its refurbished building to the community in May and the girls were delighted to be one of the first events to make use of the new facilities available to the public.

Supporters of the music recital were treated to a lively and varied repertoire of the girls' favourite musical pieces; including several solo pieces, duets and contributions from Mark Winn the school music director who also provided piano accompaniment.
