We would like to tell you about our young son Alfie who competed his charity fun run at Norman Park this weekend - he ran 4 x round the 400 metre running track completing one mile!

He is only six years old but decided himself that he would like to do something to raise as much money as he could for charity to help others.

He decided he wanted to raise money for Shelter as he wanted everyone to have a good home and help the homeless especially in the cold weather we have been experiencing.

We set him up with his own just giving page www.justgiving/Alfie-Slack with an achievable target of £60.00 but has so far raised over 5 times this amount ! He has currently raised a total of £ 325.00 which is stil rising.

We are extremely proud of him and sure he would love to see his story and picture in our local newshopper so that others could read about his hard work fundraising and his achievement.

It may also inspire other youngsters to do their own fundraising events. We have had many comments from Shelter and local people saying how nice it is to see such a young boy wanting to try and help others.
