PRESIDENT Roy Barlow presented well deserved Paul Harris Fellowships to two long-standing members of Sidcup Rotary Club.

These are given to Rotarians in recognition for service to the club and the community.

John Bilke joined the club 22 years ago and was President in 1995-96.

For many years he has been the face of Rotary in Sidcup.

He has been chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and a committee member of the League of Friends for Queen Mary's Hospital for 14 years.

John has been very involved in Scouting locally, was Group Scoutmaster and is now Chairman of Kemnal Scouts.

Amongst numerous other local activities he has been a school governor, a hospital driver and a highly popular Father Christmas during the annual Rotary Christmas collection.

The Carlton Resource Centre for the disabled and the local blind club are just two more local organisations that have benefited from his commitment to the local community.

Michael Hollingsworth has been a member for 31 years and was President in 1986-87.

He was Founder Chairman of Sidcup Rotaract Club in 1980-81.

Rotaract is an organisation for 18-30 year olds providing social activities and supporting the local community.

For the past few years he has organised very profitable charitable golf days raising large amounts of money for international aid projects.

He has strong ties with the Delft, Netherlands and Kungsbacka, Sweden contact clubs.

Before joining Rotary he was chairman of Sidcup Round Table, Area Chairman and National Hon. Treasurer.

He was co-founder of the now very large Hyde Housing Association and was awarded the MBE.

Michael was chairman of Footscray and District Club for the Disabled for over 30 years.
