The charity committee of Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School annually holds a teachers' karaoke event in which teachers get up on stage and humiliate themselves in front of their students.

This year was no different, and the committee certainly did not disappoint.

The acts included two members of the senior management team singing a duet while two members of the PE department did a lively number which got the whole hall up and dancing.

This years winners were Mr Wise (English teacher) and Miss Lymer (geography teacher) who won the crowd over with their version of the Grease classic, Summer Loving.

Their original act, in which they went under the names of Busta Lymes and Kanye Wise did not work out so well in rehearsal so they decided to scrap that idea.

This was a very good idea, as winning the karaoke meant they were able to donate the £534 (which we raised from ticket sales) to the Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases.

The Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases (the MPS Society) is a voluntary support group, founded in 1982, which represents over 1,200 children and adults suffering from MPS and related diseases, their families, carers and professionals.

It is a registered charity entirely supported by voluntary donations and fundraising and is managed by the members themselves.

Although we had to put in a lot hard work, it was all worth it as we were able to pull together as a team and raise money for a good cause.
